Pleasure And Pain..So Much Pain..

Okay this is just a short one cause I have like 26% battery left...man yesterday's XC was hell, massive 70 odd field rider field with some new hitters in the pack including Seamo, Wells and everyone's favourite Giant rider AC who convincingly won the Super D on the Fri nite over teammate Decker and Rad Ross. Got a third row call up tucked in behind U23 star Sam Schultz on his 29er. The start was balls out once again and featured a really nasty pinch that had gotten really chopped out and sandy...and meant a bunch of us had to get off and run. Still i was up there in the top twenty and found myself on AC's wheel through the first section of singletrack before we hit the tarmac climb where he just turned on the HP and danced away further up the pack. Damn these guys are the next level. For the first coupla laps i suffered hard. Really hard. The heat and dust on a brutal course with no rest and the descents all rough and chopped out to hell. Lap three was a little better putting some smack down past Schouten and looking forward to trying to bring it home. The last lap was just brutal, the body felt like I'd been hit with a coupla hundred deliveries from big Merv and I limped home cramping on every climb. So final result 26th place which i was pretty happy with considering it was a bigger stacked field for UCI points. Then to top it off i had to do a random drug test and chug heaps of water/gatorade causing me to throw up in control until finally i felt like doing the job required....and for the rest of the nite i felt like death on a stick...Green pinned it for 3rd in Expert! On the box! All good, stxc at four today so plenty of time to kill...lator cw....
