Turkey Day.

I went east. Far east. In fact the most farthest east I have been since setting foot on the land of the free, home of the burrito. DC to be exact, and it's outer rim little buddy state of Virginia. Now this whole Thanksgiving Day was a new gig for this guy, and it's origins date back to the Indians looking after the Pilgrims back in the day with a massive feast. Sounds a pretty good deal to me.

Saw plenty of history and sights in DC......

...hung out with this guy....

....did a conga line with these fellas.

Back to work this week and back to training. Forecast looks pretty cold and snowy so could be hanging out with my CompuTrainer buddy a fair bit....Suck it up....lator..cw

All Aboard.

Okay so it's not that obvious at all that I've finally been able to lock-down a new ride for 2010. I'm sure you can hardly guess I'm excited about it too! The red and black of Boulder based Team Rio Grande will be my new home and they have some big plans for next year which I'm pumped to be a part of. Our race schedule will focus on all the big time NRC stage races and along with a few new names on the roster we will be a force to be reckoned with. Naturally I want to extend a huge thanks to the G-Train and Jon for my time spent racing for RMCEF/Westside over the last two seasons, and also Steve at Giant for supplying some super fast steeds....thanks heaps guys!

Training has kicked up a notch thanks to some large volume weeks from the super-coach. Weather hasn't been too bad, I mean we have had some snow but the roads clear quite quickly and sure makes the hills look pretty! Kat has discovered Cost-Plus World Market which has the following items on the shelves and essentially made it to our cupboards pretty quickly...ahhh a taste of home!

We got some new couches and the instructions they came with were priceless....

Off to Virginia tmw for my first Thanksgiving..aka..Turkey Day...stay tuned...!

Whip It.

Monday morning and for whatever reason I stumbled upon this. Halloween show last week in Philly....too funny. Tis quite the big deal out here Halloween, and I did have plans to take photos of all the wacky house decorations and such out here but I never got around to it. There was this one house out towards Golden that had at least 8 fake people in their front yard, ranging from zombies to scarecrows and a bloke sitting on a rocking chair with no head. Pretty creative and fun for the kids I suppose. The past week has flown by and we are already at the start of the new one...yes sir they are definitely rolling along and it will be Xmas before I know it.

Still a big question mark as to what colours (spelled with a 'u', see folks I still have my Aussie heritage!) I will be representing next year. A few options at the moment on the cards but still in the planning stages which I'm not sure how comfortable I am with that! Patience...patience....

Level Crossing.

It has been a great past week. Training is back in full swing, the snow has melted and good times have been had by all. Yesterday went up at spectated the Boulder Cup CX and watched Powers, Johnson and Driscoll make fools of everyone else in the field. I mean they went clear fairly early and just rode away from some pretty big hitters with the likes of Kabush, Craig and JHK putting on the turbo. Time to have a go at this lark I think.
