Da Boyz Are Back In Town...

Well what better way to step out on two wheels and bust some killer moves with Disco T-Lowe, fresh from a year long kickin' ass with the blue train and DJ MacAttack who has recently returned from Tour de Origami and did a little of his own ass whoopin for a place on the gc box. And me, well I was in the middle of a massive spring cleaning campaign( i'm working on the theory right now of the less you own the less you need to organise..Simplify people!) when the boys took a detour from the trails and stopped by..

Macca sporting a classic golden summer mullet..really super stuff that!

Steppin' Out...

Well its post PE ball morning right now and I feel surprisingly good after a rather large night at some fancy joint in Albert Park....long way from the sticks for this mountain boy...

There was no way I wanted to hit the dress theme of "a day at the races" with what Andy Kent (YAI) would best describe as "simple black, simple black"...or any theme for that matter.. so with some help from the Green (thanks bro) I stepped out full Timmy Rogers (YAI) style in a three piece bone suit and stirred the conservative pot...and somehow managed to walk away with some best dressed male award...not that i really fully comprehended what was happenin at that point of the evenin...but not bad for a lack of shaving and $30 op shop threads..

Anyway enjoy the pics and thanks all who were there for a good nite steppin' out..two days left of classes then onto rounds for the last time...lator, cw..

Groundhog Saturday

With Green filling the passenger seat it was time again to head to everyone's favorite nowhere town and bust heads at a little punk rock show called Modella Graded Scratch Race 2006. After having a good day there last time its always fun to come back and try and stir the big roadie pot once again. With the same course, but a graded race this time the racing tactics would be a little different and well in a nutshell it kinda went like this...coupla early breaks unsuccessful. coupla solo breaks that dangled like a t bag for awhile, unsuccessful. Coming into the last climb fellow mtber Spink does what he does best and turned the screw and ending up with 5 of us away with about 10km of dead flat, straight roads to finish.

My thoughts of being in the winning break were soon shattered as the main bunch caught us before the last turn onto the dead straight drag finish. Okay. Bunch sprint time. Not really my forte cause I ain't got much HP's under the hood compared to most roadies but its the finish, you have a crack regardless....sitting in the first couple of spots on a strong wheel the pace crankin', the shock kinda hit me that with the right timing this could work out....coming around it was game on big time with the bars flexin' like spaghetti to the line with Spink only half a bike length behind chargin' it was mtber vs mtber...somehow I managed to hold for my second win of the road season....and almost passing out in the process...ahh the joy...and in so much 02 debt I'm pretty sure I caught a glimpse of Elvis...Cobain and Lennon..yep she was deep alright! The Green had a solid day in the B grade bunch putting some more racing miles in the tank...keep at it bro...and that was all she wrote for the day...madd. lator cw.

I just had to post a pic of my new #1 food...man these things are another level...aint no false advertising people...Golden...

Ticking The Boxes

So things have been pretty quiet on the ranch the last coupla days which has been nice, and as luck would have it some assignment due dates pushed back a week which is even better...actually yesterday was the last day of classes for one of my units..totally unexpected considering there is officially 3 or so weeks still to run, but hey, who am to argue!! Kinda a schweet as feelin' walkin outta that class for the last time... and plus straight after the lady at the sandwich bar hooked us up with a mass load of tuna in my roll so it was happy days for sure...the simple things in life! Hey a spy phone pic just landed right now of my new Yeti ARC hardtail race bike just finished being built up by Pezza...rad...cant wait to give it a shake when she arrives....definitely a big fan of the new paint jobs this year...oh so factory race lookin'..

Training wise I've had two solid days for one lousy one where I completely left the legs at home..so i figure I'm still on top at the moment...Green is here will be here for the weekend so it will be game on as always! Thanks for stopping by, cheers, winny.

Simple Complexity or Complex Simplicity?

Being the calm before the storm this month, sometimes you cant help but wonder what sort of storm will hit this coming season...a few years ago I always had the wonder whenever I heard the phrase floating around talk of training about "knowing yourself"as an athlete and learning about what mods your personal engine needs to get the pink slips at thunder road. It kinda cracked me a bit cause I had no idea about listening into to myself, as much as i wanted to embrace this concept that could get me to the next level I really couldn't figure out what it was all about. Time is always a good thing. Fast forward 3 or so years and I'm no zen master but I feel I'm getting there to the point where I can feel where the load is too much, or im lacking in leg speed, or threshold work or time to take a days rest despite the program saying 6 and hills...its kinda a cool feeling of being in control...I guess at the end of the day there is no one you knows you better than you, most people just don't take the time outta the daily grind to sit and listen in. Its like when you turn a kaleidoscope and the new pattern comes into focus....and to this upcoming season...well I don't think my motivation has ever been as high right now for bike racing and life in general for that matter..

You know there is always something schweet floating down at SRAM HQ. The next level of bling. Stop drooling people. Future production?? I hope so....

As I ride through the valley of the shadow of slums...inner city? Nope da nongs..damn

Someone is listening.

So next week rolls on...make it count. Do what you love, love what you do.

Trippin' to the sounds of the Mars Volta and the sheer desperation angst found in Rise Against, lator all, cw.

Do it to Win...

..why else would you? Jeepers where has this week gone?? Well I guess it doesnt matter now anyway, cause its already dissappeared. Been a good one actually, solid training sessions across the board, solid work and solid piss taking at uni...no solid pics to go with this post however...ah well, you get that!

Okay so I'll admit the main purpose of this post is a distraction away from starting another assignment due next week...hmm Id rather do some 'alternative tasks' than get another assignment stuffed down the throat in the last semester of fourth year...like I'd happily wash my tutors cars for a month or mow their lawns or paint thier fences to get a pass than sit infront of a glowing box and type for the sake of it....on a brighter note the new Mars Volta album did come out today, and in true style is loopy as all hell and will take me a week to try and make some sense of it all..well least its challenging music, rather than whatever most of the kids listen to these days... that kinda reminds me of a quote from Ed Vedder talking about Good Charlottle.."Well it sounds, I mean I guess it tastes like a popsicle thats been stuck up somebody's ass"... hmmm I hope I just havent lost half of my readership right now...ahh well I'm sure there are hundreds of "I love Good Charlotte" blog sites to compensate against a small comment from a goofy dork riding round' in tights...keep it real and keep it rubber side down...cheers, y'all, lator, cw.

Diggin' the Groove

Hmmm this week has been a great week. Feels like it has been awhile since I have said that to myself, usually there has been a great days out of a hectic week, but lately the foot has seemed to ease of the gas pedal in terms the life demands of getting stuff done and that's great...really great actually...

.....and today was no exception..rollin' with Joel and Ash T out to Modella to kick it as uncover mtbers at yet another handicap road race..and kick it we did... With all of us off scratch things were going pretty damn well the first lap of 2 loops, I was feelin' really good, the bunch was working okay but not ground breaking but as they say, you're only as strong as the weakest link...so second lap the screw needed to be turned, there was no way we were going to bridge the 30min gap to limit, and quite frankly I was getting pretty damn frustrated and bored fluffing about in E2 and the carrot of the 'fastest time' was dangling pretty nicely...so last hill of the day one of the stronger guys put in a surge and as he was pulling away I hit it to chase with the possibility of getting away with him, but as a drew closer he was already goin' backwards so i thought it was time to get the party started... plus i figured the rest of the lap left was no longer than stxc time! With a solid gap away it was game on, getting across to the next fading bunch was a bonus in getting a little recovery before emptying the tank and redlining it to the finish and securing the fastest time of the day....kinda happy to have finally done something in a road season on the tarmac full of a hellava not much...other than walkin the dogg that is..

Ash T. Powered by...well could be anything in there really...any guesses?

Apologies go out to Ash's other half for keeping him late for a scheduled dinner...Joel didn't seem to mind the hasty drive home however....

Thanks for a good day fellas...country time tomoro for some singletrackin' with the Green...lator all cw.

Time for Nine...

September Rocks. Its that point in the year where its like the day before your birthday...for the whole month. Cause right now its the time where the race season is almost but not quite here, the point where you suffer the entire month and spit polish what ever legs have survived the winter cause you always want to start the season off on the right foot...I cant wait to go deaf again every week in the garage blasting the most rage filled music in my collection suffering all the way...cant wait for point after the climb where you can hardly steer the bike down the next decent...the twisted sucking lemon face...or the days where you wake up just as hammered as you went to bed and wonder if you were in a drunken brawl the night before...September rocks dammit...

Plus its the time of year that the new seasons bits and pieces come together..my racing hoops arrived today built up by the master wheelsmith Greg Ryan from TWE Wheels...awesome...especially at 1410g...damn...out, cw.
